ABOUT
The practice creates architecture that is contextually driven and environmentally sensitive. Projects are of their time, place, and constructed with appropriate materials. We work in an open, collaborative and inclusive way ensuring buildings are the result of a collective effort and not a singular vision.
BACKGROUND
Matt studied architecture at Newcastle University and University College London, qualifying as an architect in 2018. He has worked at a number of award winning practices including Theis & Khan, Blee Halligan and Haworth Tompkins. Alongside practice, Matt has taught at the Welsh School of Architecture in Cardiff since 2021 leading a studio on low tech design that addresses the climate emergency.
Whilst at Blee Halligan, Matt was project architect on Derwent Valley Villa, a 5 bedroom house in rural Derbyshire for a private client. The project has received multiple awards including two RIBA regional awards, and has made the long-list for the RIBA’s House of the Year award, which is shown on Channel 4. Following the success of the project, Matt set up his own practice in 2020 and is working on a number of different projects including private houses, multi unit residential schemes, and a new restaurant in South London.
Matt is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and Architects Registration Board (ARB).
